When you’re growing up in the Lord, and He reveals to you something new, don’t allow deception to trick you into thinking there’s a new set of rules that you need to learn to go along with it. 

“Don’t do this anymore and start doing this.” 

“Don’t say this anymore and start saying that.” 

Yes, your behaviors will change, but not by you behavior modifying yourself and trying to perform to grow.

As you fall in love with Jesus and the Word of God, your heart changes, and as He’s changing your heart with His love, your beliefs align to His, and out of the overflow of the heart, your mouth will speak Jesus. 

Trying to do behaviors without heart understanding is frustration and unfruitful.

Just fall in love with Jesus, let Him love you, and everything else produces effortlessly. 

That’s real change. 

I got baptized in the Holy Spirit, and when I did, I thought there was a new rule book I needed to be following, a new way to “do, to be.”

The grace message.

The fullness of the gospel.

The gifts.

“Show me what to do God, and I’ll do it.” 

I couldn’t have been more wrong. 

You see, when God teaches you something new, it’s to bring you closer to Him, to walk more in tune with His nature. 

You’re not “more good” because you think you may have more revelation than others. Also You’re not “more bad” because you don’t understand some things in scripture yet.

You’re His beloved just as you are. 

It’s not a new set of rules. 

It’s no longer good we aim for, but Godly. And it happens when you decide to completely take hands off- complete and total surrender.

Godly only comes from being in an extremely powerful love relationship with Christ. 

He is now our life.

The New Testament believer is not called to a new set of rules and religious guidelines to follow after Jesus satisfies the requirements of the cross. 

No, Galatians 5:1, it is for FREEDOM that Christ has set you free. 

No more rules. No more law. 

It is the LOVE of God that now constrains us. 

Each encounter with Jesus should set us more and more free, free from rules and religious doctrines of man. 

Deeper and deeper love, chasing not a rule set, do this don’t do that, but chasing the scriptures to truly know Him, to give yourself permission to receive everything He died to purchase for you… everything He became to free you from. 

Don’t let the leaven ruin the greatness of the gospel truth of freedom and power and peace Jesus died to give to you. 

A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. 

And all it takes is just a little….

Son or daughter of God, no longer do. Just be His.
