Salvation and Water Baptism

Once you’ve received salvation, the Bible says we are to be baptized with water, just like Jesus exemplified.

Do you know why?

I never knew the importance and power behind water baptism. When I studied this old testament parallel to the Red Sea recently, it’s beautiful.

Going all the way back to Moses in the Old Testament, when the children of Israel were enslaved by Egypt, God sent Moses and had him apply the blood of the spotless lamb on the door posts of their houses, and he told them to stay under the blood. This allowed God’s judgement to pass over them. Just like Jesus did for us, His blood took on the judgement of all our sin. The blood of the lamb delivered the Israelites from the wrath of God on pharaoh and the Egyptians.

Once they followed the cloud by day and pillar by night to the Red Sea, and the waters parted and they walked through, God released the sea to cut the Israelites off — or wash them away completely—from any access pharaoh and his army ever had to them, it washed them away, completely, and forever. It cut them off totally from the hold of their oppressors.

(This full story is in the Bible, the book of Exodus).

Also in Galatians 5:18,19,20 and 24. Paul describes how our sin nature, is crucified.

Just in this way, water baptism following salvation separates you from the world, the kingdom you were once apart of— the kingdom of darkness, of Satan and demons.

Water baptism buries your sin nature forever, and you come up out of the water a new man, you’re a new creation because of Christ.

THE WATER WASHES IT ALL AWAY.

Sit with this a minute.

There is no more sin nature, no more past.

No more generational predispositions, no more in the spirit realm.

Just like the Israelites never had to worry about the Egyptians again, neither do you have to worry about your past, who you were told you’d likely be, what you’d turn out like.

Satan no longer has a hold of you.

You entered into the kingdom of life, you are no longer of the kingdom of darkness anymore, immediately you stepped in.

It’s vital to know the Holy Spirit empowering that resides in you once you’ve been saved and baptized in water.

It’s equally as vital to know that those who belong to Christ Jesus, your sin nature has been crucified. Your fleshy wants and passions and appetites that are likely ungodly, they died.

You just don’t know it because the devil tells you you’re unchanged. That nothing really happened. That you’re still the same ol’ you.

It’s not just a formality, guys. It’s not just something you’re ‘supposed to do.’

It’s a powerful decree.

If you don’t get ahold of this truth and understand this, you let things control you that don’t have a right to.

Water Baptism is this powerful declaration in the spiritual realm that Satan can’t touch you!

You’ve changed kingdoms, and now greater is He who lives in YOU than he who lives in the world!

Satan knows it, all of heaven knows it, but do you know it?

You could stay stuck and trapped, with an unrenewed mind to this, and allow the enemy to continue to steal and kill and destroy from you, illegally, for no reason.

Don’t trade your boldness for bashful, your God confidence for fear… simply because you didn’t know.

The prison cell you think you’re in, is actually unlocked and the doors stand wide open because you received Jesus— because of what He did for you on the cross.

Because the water washed it away.

Your new man is your identity now. There’s a new you, a real you that is waiting to be unleashed on the kingdom of darkness.

We gotta know this stuff sisters, mamas, friends.

Its time to stand up and walk out.

Let’s not just add Jesus to our old lives.

Our old lives are buried with the sin nature, now dead!

What does God have as His Original Plan tucked away in you that others need?

Let’s put on righteousness— let’s shine HIS Kingdom.
