Identity Crisis

As a believer in Jesus Christ, you must know who you are IN CHRIST, not just theologically or doctrinally, you must have a heart knowing.

Revelation knowledge from God.

This was something that I had struggled to understand as a believer, and I would hear preachers teach on it, but I just didn’t get it. It wouldn’t stick. My heart was hard in this area and I couldn’t receive from God about it…. because more than I believed God’s word, I believed that I wasn’t ever good enough.

When you receive Jesus at salvation, and your spirit is made new, as Jesus is, so are we in this world, the Bible says… (1 John 4:17).

You have now at the moment of salvation everything you need for life and godliness residing in your spirit (2 Peter 1:3).

The old man, your sin nature is dead and gone, crucified and buried, and you’re now alive IN Christ.

So what does the new man look like? You look the same. You haven’t changed on the outside, so you have to learn about what happened inside…

The Bible clearly tells us all over…

You have every spiritual blessing in Christ in the heavenly realm. (He’s blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1)

You were chosen before the foundation of the world. (For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. Ephesians 1)

He was pleased to pre-decide to adopt you as His son. (Ephesians 1)

He freely gives to you these things, by His grace. (Ephesians 1)

Because it makes Him happy, He gives you wisdom and understanding to know His will. (Ephesians 1)

You were sealed, marked as His. The enemy cannot touch you. You are marked and sealed by the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 1)

Because of His Spirit within you, you have the mind of Christ. You have the ability to think like God thinks. To see things Kingdom. (1 Corinthians 2:16)

You already have all the fruits of the spirit — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control in your born again spirit. They are present there, in full maturity ready to be accessed.

It’s not about having to wait on those things to develop… it’s about allowing them to be exercised. Choosing joy instead of frustration. Choosing peace instead of unforgiveness.

You don’t have to live bound and captive to fear, paranoia, obsessive thoughts. You’ve not been given a spirit of fear, but power, love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

You can tell the devil to sit down and shut up, in Jesus’ name. You have authority over the enemy of this world. (Luke 10:19)

He has called you by name. You are His. (Isaiah 43)

God knows you personally and intimately, and He really cares about your life.

You are loved. Fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139)

He didn’t mess up anything in creating you. He didn’t mis-identify your gender, He didn’t get your hair color wrong, He didn’t mess up a thing. All of it is on purpose, gifted from Him.

You, because of Jesus, are the head and not the tail, above the circumstances and not beneath them. (Deuteronomy 28:13)

We don’t have to be a slave to whatever our situations or circumstances may be. We have authority over the enemy, and Gods will never returns to Him void.

You’re packed full of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:11)

A portable temple, the walking talking hands and feet of Jesus.

You’ve got more than enough power inside of you (the Holy Spirit) to raise the dead, heal the sick, and cast out devils. (Matthew 10:1)

When you look in the mirror, who or what do you see?

Your external appearance?

Your life success?

Your biggest disappointment or failure?

Did you even know this is what the Bible says about you? And there’s more.

Learn who God says you are. He wants you to know.

Because God sees the real you.

Ask Him to show you who you are now, only because of what Jesus Christ did for you.

You’ll soon look in the mirror not to be angry, discontent, or disappointed at the reflection, but you will begin to see who God sees.

Prepare to be amazed.
