Doing to Be

What are you ‘doing’ to ‘be’ right with God?

Anyone?

Oh, y’all don’t and haven’t ever… right?

Well, I hate to admit it, but I have.

Are you doing church to be right with God?

Are you paying tithe to be financially blessed by God?

Are you doing the living right thing, following the moral code to be accepted in God’s eyes?

Are you doing by not missing a single Sunday at a church that is deader than a doorknob because you believe you have to be at a church to please God?

Are you doing by serving on Sunday that you absolutely hate and dread because you must be plugged in, serving to be right with Him?

This is danger.

Jesus did.

Jesus Christ, the son of God, did. He became sin, took the curse, so that you could be right with God, so you could receive His righteousness, so you could be righteous.

Let your doing, flow from your being, not your being flow from what you’re doing.

When you go and do because of who you’re becoming in the being, you’ll shine Jesus.

But when you try to do good things to become more likable to Jesus, you’ll shine religious.

And that’s just simply a paralyzing pause at the door of abundance.
