To all of you out there who don’t believe there is a devil, or you believe he is there just idly standing by minding his own business until he gets thrown into hell, let me show you what I found out…

According to Rick Renner, devil means “diabolos” in Greek—-and he defines this word as “one who repetitiously strikes until successfully penetrating an object in order to ruin it, affect it, or take it captive; to slander, accuse or defame; to penetrate by continuous assault; to ensnare with a net.”

Sound fun, anyone?

Here is what the Bible says about satan:

A roaring lion looking to see whom he can devour.

He authors confusion and chaos, tragedy.

The devil steals, kills, destroys, slanders, accuses, defames.

Satan is the accuser of the brethren.

A thief.

In Greek, he’s the tempter.

The Father of Lies.

A fallen angel kicked out of heaven for pride.

He’s definitely not sitting twiddling his thumbs, letting you walk out your salvation and all your God dreams with Jesus.

He’s not waiting in hell for you. The Bible calls him the father of THIS world.

On the flip side, he is also not on every doorknob, either.

The devil doesn’t always make you late, give you a flat tire, nor is he the reason you can’t lose weight.

Satan can only wreak havoc in your life when you agree with him instead of Christ..

I love this saying I hear over and over… “if you’re not running into the devil in life, then you’re going in the same direction he is.”

If you never encounter any opposition, then he’s just not intimidated by that fruit of yours.

The devil is not personally after certain people, he is after the Word. Satan knows what power the Word has… do we?

He wants to keep the Word of God out of as many hearts and minds and ears as he can…

Because the more the Word of God spreads, the closer Jesus is to coming to get us, His Bride.

The closer we get to seeing Jesus in the clouds and satan being punished, the more he squirms and the louder the demons get.

And to deny he doesn’t get involved to try to distract you from Jesus, well that’s danger.

Like the recent Target thing… “Satan respects pronouns…”

Yeah. He sure does respect and encourages whatever that thing is or will be that keeps you from knowing the truth that’ll set you free from his lies… whether it be identity deception, mind confusion, blinders by religion, or even plain busyness and cares of this life.

Satan is drawing you from the Truth, to draw you away from your only real Source.

To use you to affect other people, to draw others away from God…

It even looks all awesome at first… feels good, too.

Until God startles you to wake up and you see that the devil is killing you from the inside out… and you couldn’t even see.

The devil is the bully mouse behind the megaphone.

Powerless toward those who are under the blood.

Limitless to those who refuse Christ.

The devil is a liar.

Do not be deceived.

Give no place to him.

“So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.” James 4:7, (emphasis mine)
