The gospels.
Each man has His own vantage point.
We need new people writing from each generation to carry it on… for such a time as this.
My position writes to people that I can only reach.
Sometimes if I’m honest, I wonder what’s the point in writing if others have already written…
What’s the point in sharing my story if others already walked it out and share it so well…
Some of us read Matthew and get a nugget that John didn’t point out.
We can read stories in Luke that aren’t present in the book of Mark.
They all shared the exact same Person, the Main Thing was the Main Thing, but each gospel offers a little difference from the others.
If each man wouldn’t have shared it, we wouldn’t know the fullness it.
If Luke didn’t share about the Cleopas and Peter walking to Aramaeus and talking with Jesus and not even knowing it was Him, I wouldn’t know that Jesus would do that…
If John wouldn’t have explained how Jesus revealed Himself on that second occasion to Thomas who wasn’t there the first time, I’d not know that even in doubt and unbelief we find ourselves in, Jesus meets us there and shows us in person, the nail marks in His hands and in His feet when we need it, so that we too can be reminded, “My Lord, My God.”
The truth of the matter is, is that all those who share the story of Jesus, all who declare and proclaim— should be every believer my Bible tells me—we all have the same reference place, which is God’s word.
But it is our experience, our location, our position in our families, our communities, our church, all impact our call. They make us uniquely needed and obedience is required.
So if you’re not sure that your gifting is needed in this life, if you struggle with wonder if what you have to contribute would make a dent in anything, hear me now.
It is.
He gifted you for a reason. You’re His chosen, His fearfully and wonderfully made. And only you can do that assignment He has for you. No one else.
Someone needs your experience and vantage point to help them to be able to receive from Christ.
We are His vessels, He chooses to limit Himself to work through a willing child most times.
One of us who will surrender to Him.
You may never know who you impact for Him.
You may never meet the person that God saved through your post, your business, your company.
But God knows.
So just do it.
Do what you feel He’s pressing you to do. And He will take care of the rest.
