Why are some things harder than other things for a person to get over, like it may take me months to get something in my heart, when it takes someone else a few days?
What is that? I asked God one day.
He explained it like this in my heart…
“Everyone is on their own journey with Me.
As we walk down the road of life together, you with Me, there will be times when you want to run, to full-speed-ahead, just ‘go after it’, when you’re catapulted forward in My revealing things to you.
There will be times when you want to skip and jump and play as My joy oozes out of you, joy abounding. Not necessarily wanting to run, but just enjoying Me.
There will be times when you may feel tired, and you need to stop and rest on the side of the road. Just a quick recovery to strengthen yourself.
There may also be times where you need to sit in my lap a little while. When you need rest and comfort, when you need to cry with Me.
Each of these experiences you may have walking with Me, just know this….
Take what you need.
Run as hard as you want, I’m cheering you on, ‘You got this, Kid!’
Cry as hard as you need, for as long as you want. I’ll sit and hold you until you are ready to get back up.
There are also times when my children may not be walking with Me at all for a moment, but as soon as they call to Me, I’m already running to them, delighted to greet them with a kiss.
Then in those times of trips, falls, wrong turns, unexpected things, that’s okay too, just get back up with Me.
And then when you’re finally walking daily life with Me, and we’ve got this walking together thing down pat, know how much I treasure our Father to child relationship.
Our chats, our conversations about hard things or happy things. I’m proud of you.
So don’t worry. You’ve been in all of these places at least once, and, honestly, all of my children will.
That’s why I had Paul tell you, to not compare yourselves among yourselves.
No place on this road, whether it’s in my lap or running full speed ahead, is better than another, because I’m in each place with each child all at the same time.
You’re each different, each intricately woven and knit together I made you, each I created on purpose with a specific plan before the foundation of the world.”
Psalm 139
“Not that we [have the audacity to] venture to class or [even to] compare ourselves with some who exalt and furnish testimonials for themselves! However, when they measure themselves with themselves and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding and behave unwisely. We, on the other hand, will not boast beyond our legitimate province and proper limit, but will keep within the limits [of our commission which] God has allotted us as our measuring line and which reaches and includes even you.”
