Just Wait, Just Trust.

I don’t know about you mama, but for me, this culture we get to be apart of, that we get to bring Kingdom to, has a tendency to rub off on me sometimes when I don’t notice it.

From instant grits to instant messages, the world has become a very impatient place. We want what we want, when we want it— even our fastest phone technology seems slow to us now.

We want answered text messages, returned calls, responses to our requests before we even get the official ‘delivered’ message on the screen.

I remember a time before call waiting. A time before answering machines. A time where there were no personal cell phones to distract us from each other under the same roof.

I find myself feeling tempted to get tired of waiting, to take the big things, the God things, into my own hands.

Can you relate? Do you feel impatient, do you want to intervene on something you know God’s working out in your life? Are you tempted to say, “God, here. It’s this, just do it this way it’s faster… matter of fact, here, gimme, I’ll do it.” No? Oh, that must only be me that has tried that…

Come with me, mama, walk along side me in this being still, trusting God place of rest. Trusting Him more than our logic, or our understanding. Come with me in full surrender to Him—full surrender of that thing we hold so tightly too, that thing that happened, that thing that is trying to break us…that everything I am, that I have, is first His. Drop it. Cast it. Surrender it. He’s the only one that knows how to fix it, and until you get your hands off of it, He can’t. Everything that’s going on He knows, and He knew it would be this way when He decided to create us—me, you. Trust Him with me.

I’m not saying there’s not a need to take our authority on things, to know what we are battling, and that we are to roll over and wait on God to intervene in a battle that He equipped us to conquer…that’s not this.

This is the “standing,” standing knowing that you’ve used you weapons that are not carnal, the ones that we have because of the Holy Spirit, because of Jesus. Knowing that you’re God’s first, and letting Him handle it from here….you often may have to wait and trust.

So let’s dust off this impatience that may have rubbed onto us somewhere along the way. Let’s be excited to watch Him be miraculous. Lets embrace uncertainty as we release our white-knuckled grip from that thing. Lets remember that as we wait on Him, trust in Him, surrender to Him, He’s renewing us, mounting us up on wings of eagles, He’s provided that we not get weary, that we not faint.

So wait on the Lord. Allow Him in His way to do it rightly, perfectly, seamlessly, beautifully. Let’s just be present in the moment at the feet of Jesus through the wait.

“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
