Bridled Stallions

Wives. Mamas. Women.

What’s bridling us? What’s the bit? Do we even have one?

Jentezen Franklin mentioned this in his message one Sunday, about the power we have as wives, the influence we carry, and I’ll say to mamas and just women in general, because, well, I’m all three.

It grabbed my attention and I’ve been chewing on it this week… and here are my thoughts on this idea…

Are we allowing our emotions and feelings to run rampant, kicking and bucking, and injuring anyone that happens to come in our path?

I wouldn’t know that it was possible to be that way if I wasn’t guilty of it.

We must be willing.

We must willingly allow the bridle of God’s Word, the bit of God’s way, God’s plan, regardless of what the world tells us, to be placed on our head.

Let the Word of God reign those emotions.

Allow it to be a cooling salve to the hot burning wounds of our experiences in life.

Let it heal you.

We women are a thousand times braver to submit to God than to stand up and be feministic dominators.

After the Adam and Eve incident, Genesis 3:16, God told Eve that as part of the consequence, the curse, she would want to rule over her husband… to take charge, to usurp… but God tells her that her husband would remain to rule over and be responsible for her…

The curse is gone now, and we now aren’t under curse, but we have to understand it’s in our original separated nature from Adam’s sin.

Our flesh, our un-renewed mind, it wants to dominate… but our spirit, that’s right with God, can overcome because of Jesus.

It’s now God’s nature in us that can dominate… the Bible tells us that the old is gone, and the new has come; Jesus made us new creatures.

Totally brand new.

We must know that we have the power within us—from the Holy Spirit—to bridle ourselves, our flesh, our emotions.

It’s not about control- it’s about submission to God over your own way.

It’s entering into the protective covering of In Christ.

Our main desire as women, and wives especially, is security.

Enter in, and find security in the stronghold of Christ.

Not in Control.

God’s bridled stallion is not one that’s bound, enslaved.

No, this stallion knows that with that bridle, with that loving owner on her back, that she can run strong, full speed ahead… she can trust the direction even if she’s scared.

Because she knows the love of her owner; he’s been faithful to her.

So whether your married, a mama, a woman, or all three…

Life, peace, purpose, and rest are all found in submission to the bit.

2 Corinthians 10:5 we are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exhausted and proud thing that sets itself up against the true knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
