Is there a mama to littles out there that needs some love today? Some extra encouragement in Jesus? Is there a mama that’s tired, or in the trenches of motherhood right now?
This mama may be tempted to feel she’s got more than she can manage, how can she ever rise to the occasion and actually pull this mama thing off?
This mama is snowed under with the homework, sports practices, the diaper changes and busyness of a toddler who always tends to find the less than best thing to play with and stick her fingers in it.
This mama needs supper ideas, and cleaning up tips, sippy cups that don’t leak, and magic erasers… so many magic erasers.
This mama has that 1-2 year old, the one that’s in between, in between sleeping good and awake all night, in a season of tired, a season of up at night, 1,2,3 times at least, to console the tears, to give the hugs, to comfort the cries.
This mama has the tween girl, that is dealing with body changes and relationships at school, teaching and training, while also ingraining in her child’s heart her true identity is in Christ, and not the world.
This mama has the child with the strong will, the one that will push the issue as far as she can, for as long as she wants.
This mama may be doing the child rearing on her own, without someone to support her, no one to help with the chores, the laundry, the decision making, the bill paying, the book reading, or the nighttime snuggles.
This mama has a heavy heart with deeper issues that need attention with other children, brokenness, trauma, grief.
This mama must know that Jesus is in it with you. Jesus is in the moment when you find yourself asking, “I don’t know what my baby needs right now. Help me.”
Look up, mama. No matter what the issue is, He is there, He answers. He tells you that He has equipped you with everything you need to do this call of motherhood, for each individual child in their different and unique ways. That your babies are on purpose, for you. You are the one He chose to train them up in the way they should go, and when they are old, they won’t depart from it. You are the one that will do it.
Yes, You.
Don’t be deceived that you can’t figure it out on your own, or that you’re getting it wrong. You’re getting it right. Maybe not every time, but that’s okay. The Holy Spirit is there, He’s your comfort, your strength, and He gives you wisdom. The beautiful reality is that same Holy Spirit inside of you, knows what your child needs, and He wills to share it with you. He wants to show you. Take God’s word and search it for wisdom on your children’s journey. It will never fail you.
Draw near to God in this child rearing journey, mama. Tune in to hear His voice, lean on Him to rest when you get physically tired, and trust fall back fully surrendered and let Him lead you, step for step, in all things.
