Roots in the Prodigal

Once a seed is planted, and the roots are established, it’s really hard to remove that root from the ground.

God showed me this as I was trying to move one of my rose bushes…It goes deep down, out to the sides, deeper than you can see.

I believe this is the way the seeds of the Word root in us, as our parents planted seeds of God in us, who He is, how He loves, and we plant those seeds in our children.

Our children’s heart ground is so often soft, moldable, impressionable in the earliest years. It’s not had time to get hardened, offended, tainted by the ways of the world. So when you teach the children things of God, it goes in, and goes in deep.

It’s nearly impossible to dig it up and throw it out as if it was never planted, practically impossible to remove it completely.

As some of you walk this season with a prodigal, although I don’t know what it’s like because I’ve not walked this journey, this I do know, because the Word tells us… seeds take root. And in due time they will produce.

God sees. He knows. And He loves.

He’s fully equipped you to walk this out. He’s not surprised by it.

Whether it’s possessing the land, and taking back with the God-given authority we have, or whether is standing on the promises of a God who will never leave or forsake us, listen to me…

God will not fail you.

“But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.””
