Many Voices

A few years ago, Rosie’s 5th grade year, she auditioned for a spot and made place in the SC Elementary Honors Choir. We went this weekend, and what a treat it was.

All of these kids can sing very well for their age. They are truly gifted, and they sound so beautiful singing individually.

Just one of their little voices is absolutely beautiful. So beautiful.

But as I sit here in the pew as they practice, I’m literally moved to tears hearing them put all of their voices together in unity to sing for the first time.

It was angelic, and my heart was overwhelmed.

As I’m listening, I felt in my heart that this is what God hears, when His children come together in unity, as one voice, one prayer, one mind.

The beautiful unparalleled sound of unity.

Harmony.

Every voice has their unique sound, their certain part, every voice vital to the whole pure sound that makes a choir.

Imagine the power that the body of Christ (that’s every believer who believes in Jesus as Lord) would have being in one voice, one prayer, one spirit, one mind.

United.

Not divided over denominations or religions or worship styles.

United as the bride.

United with one song of worship, lifting our voices and praising His name.

United as we stand against the enemy.

United is what wages war on darkness, and allows the ground to be held.

Armor linked. Voices raised. Swords drawn. (Ephesians 6)

Let’s Sing On church.
