He Won’t Yell

It was another chaotic morning getting my three blessings out the door.

I found myself raising my voice in an effort to get them to move faster…

Couldn’t they see they were going to be late?

The Holy Spirit dropped this in my heart and once we got in the car, I shared it with them…

“God is not going to yell at you to make you do things. He doesn’t scream at you for attention, so neither will I. He’s not going to scream at you over the TV, the phone, the drama. He will be the Perfect Gentleman that He is, and He will speak when you ask to hear what He has to say.

And no matter how many times you may miss His voice, He’s still waiting to talk to you. He will love you through every step of the not listening consequence that follows as you choose. He loves you always, and so do I. So please start listening to me, and especially Him, when it’s quiet. He has some really cool things to say to you.”

“Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?””
