John tells us in John 1:12-13, that we don’t owe our existence to our parents, or whoever may have raised us.
We owe our existence to our Creator.
Acts 22:25-28 tells us a little about Paul and as he was about to be tortured by the centurion, he reminded them that he was a Roman citizen…
Acts 22: 28 “And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.”
The Message translation puts it this way… “The captain was impressed. “I paid a huge sum for my citizenship. How much did it cost you?” “Nothing,” said Paul. “It cost me nothing. I was free from the day of my birth.” (Emphasis mine).
Whatever situation we may have been born into, circumstances, good or bad, they do not define us.
John 1:12-13: 12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
Not of blood, or the will of flesh, or the will of man, but of God.
So whether your parents planned your conception for years, whether they didn’t plan at all and conceived on a whim, whether they didn’t even want to conceive and did anyway, or whether they were forced to conceive and you were product of a dark and sinful way…
Hear this part…
“But as many as did receive Him, to them He gave right to become children of God.”
No matter where you come from, or how messed up your life has been, or even is now, you are His creation, and you have been given the right to become His child, should you choose Jesus.
Run to Him, and let Him make you freeborn.
