Point them to Him

Mamas, daddy’s, big brothers and big sisters, youth pastors, aunts, uncles, grandparents, preachers…

Can we try something new?

Can we start teaching them to follow Him, not just tell them to do so?

Can we start practically teaching them how to walk out their salvation by demonstration, leading by example on how we daily walk with Jesus?

Because people, especially our kids, need to know how to experience and encounter Jesus.

They need to know how to read and ask God for themselves, and they need to be taught how to study the Bible, how to pray, how to resist temptation.

Let’s teach them… wean them from milk to meat… teach them how to eat the Word.

It’s in this individual discovery of God for themselves that they will find the person of Christ.

Teach them how the Word of God will satiate their hunger.

Teach them that the Living Water quenches their thirst.

It is only these that can satisfy their hungry hearts.

Can we let go of ‘how I always did it’ and meet them there?

It’s going to start looking really different with this next generation.

We can trust Him with them.

He loves them more than we do, only He is fully trustworthy…He cannot fail them.

““And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”
