Why do we as a culture, so heavily teach those we come in contact with to depend on people, places and things?
To the church, we do this, too.
We really genuinely want to help others, but if we aren’t careful, we teach them to depend on us, instead of Him.
To depend on them.
That resource.
That teacher.
That church body.
That small group leader.
That supplement.
That diet.
That nutrition plan.
That counselor.
That doctor.
That psychiatrist.
That vacation spot.
That guilty pleasure.
The church should be a place where we can live and do life together, but the essence of our message to each other better be that you can do nothing without pure, complete absolute no turning back t-total, forever infinite eternal and unending dependence on the Savior who saved you.
That is our one and only fullest need.
““Listen to Me, O Jacob, And Israel, My called: I am He, I am the First, I am also the Last. Indeed My hand has laid the foundation of the earth, And My right hand has stretched out the heavens; When I call to them, They stand up together.”
