The Foundation

(2021, that’s me, coming out of religion, into relationship—perfectly painted for me by Debbie Lōser)

To really begin to understand and identify the areas in my life that were religious rather than relational and how that came to be, I had to really dive into the following core topics with Jesus in the bible, and in personal time spent talking with God.

There was some major restructuring, major learning, to solidify the gaping holes in the foundation of my belief system, and what I understood about being in God.

But all along this journey, until forever into eternity, Jesus Christ always was and forever will be the Foundation, never changing, never failing.

These are the most fundamental things to dig in on, from my experience.

This is what I wished I would have had when I was walking my testimony out… breaking out of religiousness is no easy feat, and you will have opposition.

But I am here to tell someone that this is all going to work out.

You will make it; you will be so glad you pressed into these moments with Jesus, you may not even recognize yourself at the end, the Light will be SO bright.

I pray that you take these scriptures and meditate on them.

Ask the Holy Spirit to carve them into the flesh of your heart.

I pray that they become a part of you, in Jesus’s name.

But First, Your Heart’s Ground

If you know much about me, you’ll understand how much I love a good ol’ instruction manual. Steps and how things work, procedures and processes interest me greatly.

The Bible shares so much about what renewing your mind and examining your own heart means, how to do it, and why you should. These principles gave me understanding of my part in this process; my role to participate…

The Love of God

This is not a list to be completed to stay saved, to stay loved by God, to get to heaven… The more and more you can understand God’s personal love to you, the more and more you will experience the victory He died for you to have, by simply receiving, just like salvation.

But, you must learn to stop doing, and be.

Basics of Christianity

The Love of God is the one foundational principle that everything in the Bible should be filtered through as you begin to read The Bible for yourself.

So I am a Christian, now what?

The Person of God

Who is God? What is He like? Where is He?

God wants to be discovered by you. He is not hiding, He is not mysteriously making things hard for you to understand…

He, in the most powerful way, has made Himself available to you in the simplest way possible, and He longs to reveal Himself to you…

Who Am I?

Who am I? Why am I here? Who made me? What is my part, my reason for existence?

What if I’m too late to this gospel, too old and set in my ways, too far removed in my lifestyle?

I’m so glad you asked…

What About Them?

I can understand the engulfing love of God, and the triune all-supremacy of God as my creator and my friend.

But when it comes to the second part, of loving my neighbor, that seems next level legit.

That seems… a lot harder.

Let’s go there…

The Opposition: The Devil

There’s only one person who is our enemy. And everything against Jesus is tied to him…

All Healed Up: Now What?

There will come a time when all the traumas, all the hurts, all the pain will no longer exist when you’ve walked them out with Jesus.

You will remember them, but the painful details will no longer be relevant, or felt. You’ll not forget, you will be at rest in forgiveness…

You’ll find your Manasseh…
