Striving is a sneak.

It comes knocking when the results aren’t yet evident…

It whispers that the promise won’t fulfill…

It comes to scream that His power really isn’t enough to overcome your weakness.

It echoes over and over that you’re too late, that you missed your chance, that the dream is dead because you didn’t do something.

The strive steps into a mind of impatience.

The strive decides that it’s on you, taking co-laboring to unbiblical contexts requiring that it’s your job to make things happen.

The strive says “just go do it yourself, you can do this.”

The strive disguises itself as productive, “working for God.”

The strive is a worshipper of ambition, self reliance, and the part that hides best, is fear.

The strive cannot hide weary.

The strive cannot hide burnout.

The strive produces Ishmael, when Issac was promised and already on the way.

The strive is not necessary.

Real work for God produces life, peace… it energizes and restores and fills a space that nothing else can.

Wait on the Lord.

He’s never been late.

He’s not confused.

Don’t mistake Godly drive as strive.
